I get it - it's hard to decide when you can have literally anything on it. We'd recommend an image from a game you love, for example a favourite character or location. Think about what inspires you!

A quick Google Image search usually does the trick. We recommend including the word “wallpaper” in your search—for example, “cyberpunk wallpaper” or “warhammer wallpaper.” That tends to bring up higher-quality images that look great when printed.

The laws for our business ensure that you are allowed to print any artwork that you want for your mat as long as it’s for private use, ie. displaying on your desk or using at trading card tournaments. Reselling copyrighted artwork would not be so good.

This is really personal preference. Some games facilitate the need for an overlay but for most (Magic the Gathering, I'm looking at you) it's really up to you. An overlay can be helpful but for more experienced card game enjoyers it can be nice to just look at the artwork while you play.

Woah, steady up there cowboy! What were you wanting to have printed? We'd recommend using your best judgement on this one. We obviously won't print anything illegal. There's a fine line between naughty and nasty though and we trust our customers to be sensible here.

We’ll work with almost anything, but for the best results, aim for at least a 1080p image. If you can find a 4K version - even better! But no stress if not - that’s where our image cleanup support comes in to help polish it to print-ready quality. We're proud to be one of the only companies with this ability.

We offer three sizes of full-size gaming mats, designed to suit a variety of setups:

Our mats surface are made from a high-quality engineered microfibre—a smooth, durable fabric designed for long-lasting comfort and performance. Beneath the surface is a high-density premium foam core followed by a high-traction rubber underlay that ensures both comfort and stability.

Edge stitching on a gaming mat is essential. Without the stitching the core of the mat is exposed, allowing it to chip away and fall apart. We use a tough, long-lasting and extremely fine stitching that ensures maximum comfort without snags and loose threads, keeping your prized mat intact. The best part is that we also print over the stitching so you have a seamless image that reaches to the very edge of the mat!

We recommend that our mats are hand washed. Just pop it in the bathtub and lightly scrub with some laundry liquid and either a microfibre cloth or the soft side of a sponge. That said, they are machine washable. Just make sure that you use a cold wash and your lowest spin cycle and use a protective garment bag if there's one available. From there, line dry away from direct sunlight, such as over a shower rail.

We offer two foam-core thicknesses. Our 2mm mats are slim, stable, and super comfy with a minimal edge. The 5mm mats are ultra-plush, packed with foam for extra cushioning, and perfect for smoothing out bumps and desk imperfections.

All Tako Mats products are backed by a 2-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty covers:

• Delamination or edge separation
• Print defects or significant fading (under normal use)
• Faults in stitching or materials

This warranty does not cover:

• General wear and tear
• Damage from misuse, improper cleaning, or accidents
• User-supplied artwork issues
